What
is this?
This is
the '
What's happening in the Star Wars galaxy of the Warriors of Gar.' I
have presented it here like a holonet transmission reporting the
events as the media may percieve them. Every few months I
put together a four page holonet as a hand-out to players.
The holonet has news of previous adventures, hidden tit-bits of
information for the current adventure, and a few unrelated
articles. I can't re-print my exact hand-out's here they do
include articles and pictures taken from around the net. So
here is a 'best of' Ugavine's Holonet. |

House Barnaba High Lady Killed!
Disaster has struck
the Arabella family as High Lady Arabella and her younger brother
Lord Arabella were killed, on Lord Arabellas wedding day!
The bride, holovid superstar Scarlet Jospeh is said to be
devastated. The incident occurred only moments after the
ceremony when a Gorilla slave went berserk pounding brother and
sister to death. Several guests tried to restrain the wild
beast before Imperial Stormtroopers took charge of the situation
and killed the beast. This leaves House Barnaba in a very
unlikely position of Scarlet Joseph being High Lady of the
House. Several families have protested against Scarlet
appointment to this role, as well as other Houses also showing
concern.
Lord Bal Jassett of
House Melantha gave this statement, "I feel for House
Barnaba's loss, but it is a disgrace to the nobility of this
sector that a woman of no noble birth can rule a House of Tapani."

The Mad Moff
As if the
devastating deaths at the Arabells wedding were not enough there
was trouble before the ceremony. Moff Gustavu, a guest of
the groom apparently went mad with a blaster shooting randomly
into the crowd. The Moff was removed by Stormtroopers and is
believed to be undergoing medication.
The Lord and the
Alien
Rumours are abound
that Baron Hawtree has had an illicit affair with a n alien
woman. The identity of the woman is still unknown but is
believed to be of the twi'lek species. The Baron has been
unavailable for comment.

Pelagian Starship Disaster!
In a terrible accident in Pelagias Capital
City a stock light freighter lost control in low orbit crashing in
the commercial district. No casualties we reported though
the damage was considerable. Traffic in the area is still
being diverted. Pelagias own High Lord, Lord Aragorn, was on
the scene to help with the wounded.
Lord
Aragorn charged with possession of illegal weapon
In the midst of the carnage following the
crashed starship in Pelagia's commercial district Lord Aragorn was
seen brandishing a working Light-foil. Pelagia's House Guard
were quickly on the scene but Pelagia Police have confirmed that
Lord Aragorn has been charged over the possession of an illegal
weapon. It would appear that the High Lord was assaulted as
he helped victims of the accident and used the weapon in self defense.
Lord Aragorn was unavailable for comment but his representatives
have issued this statement, "In a misunderstanding of local
personal defense laws Lord Aragon has admitted to the possession
of a working Light-foil. Lord Aragorn is sorry about this
incident and would like to say that the weapon was activated
several days ago by accident and Lord Aragorn had not had time to
register it's operation. Lord Aragorn has accepted the
charges against him and has agreed to pay the fine as well as
donating 30,000 credits to a local children's charity."

Rise of the Empire
20 years before ANH
A civil war has been averted in the Kalidor
System due to the timely intervention of two Jedi. Moran Doon,
Viceprex of the Trade Federation, has been found guilty of trying to seize
control of the system. It appears that the disgraced Neimodian
Viceprex had discovered new ore deposits, profits of which he wanted to
keep to himself. The two continents of Kalidor, Kaldor Prime and
Kalidor Beta, had been at odds with each other for centuries. This
new plot has united the planet and guaranteed their entry into the
Republic. We asked Plo Koon of the Jedi Council why Jedi were on a
non-Republic mission, he said "Injustice has no bounds."

Elrood Sector
News
All has been relatively quiet in
the Elrood Sector as of late. Rumors of rebellion were quite
firmly quashed by Imperial Star Destroyer Captain Tanda Pryll who
said, "Why would anybody wish to rebel against the freedom
and peace offered by the Emperor’s New Order?"
New Plant species
discovered
There are Rumors that the renown
botanist Professor Scarman has discovered a new species of plant.
The exact location is unknown at this point, no doubt a closely
guarded secret. Prof. Scarman, speaking from his laboratory on the
planet Kidron, spoke with our reporter, "We have not
confirmed this is a new species, but Baron Chase, of Tapani House
Barnaba, is financing a party to investigate. It’s glorious to
see that research and new discoveries are still being made in our
time."
The Kidron Incident
An Imperial spokesperson has said
that the closing of the Kidron Systemin the Elrood Sector is no
cause for alarm The Empire say that a plague has swept across the
planet, but it is under control. "The Empire, as always, is
acting in the best interests, for the safety, of Imperial
citizens." Imperial scientists and doctors are looking into
the incident. Citizens with family and friends on the planet
Kidron should contact your local Imperial office for further
updates, but under no condition should any craft approach the
system.

Spotlight on Tapani Sector
Vor-Cal Success
In recent News this years Vor-Cal was a success, especially for
Lady Damara Decrilla of House Mercetti with an excellent score of
15. Lord Vaskal of House Melantha was runner-up with 13 points.
Lord Coral and Lady Savant ,of House’s Calipsa & Pelagia
respectively, failed to make any major impression on the score
sheet.
Pirates hit Imperial Shipping
Pirate activity, especially against bacta shipments is now at
it’s highest level in the Sector for 20 years. Speaking to the
Holonet Lord Vaskal assures us that security is being stepped up
in the sector and he is currently liaising with Secotor Moff
Gustavu to deal with the problem. One pirate positively identified
is Klatakk, a Klatoon known to authorities as working for one for
the Hutt syndicates. Which one has not been disclosed.
Pelagia Uprising
House Pelagia continue to grow in strength and gain more
enemies. Lady Savant has recently been very cold to Reena
diplomats along with representatives of the newly formed House
Tapani, which Lady Savant helped to form. Lord Armageddon was
quoted at a recent event saying "I can not understand the
actions of House Pelagia. They invite me into the system then
treat me with contempt." Rumours have it though that Lord
Armageddon has been spotted speaking with representatives of
Melantha and Mercetti, including contact with the questionable
Lord Drax of Mercetti.
Pelagian Decent
Lord Fairfax, who has been a strong supporter of Lord
Mattherson in recent years, has strongly and publicly criticised
Lady Savants handling of recent events. Lord Fairfax has just
stopped short of openly accusing the Palagia High Lady of
conspiring with an unknown adversary. Although Lord Fairfax has
not been a popular member of the Pelagia Council he does have
strong financial holdings within the sector that could sway
opinion in his favour.
JAN reports
unconfirmed

Another bomb has exploded killing
three people in the Melantha Capital. The bomb was planted in a
speeder parked outside the University Cantina. The three killed
were all students and have yet to be named for legal reasons.
Although the JAN, Justice Action Network, have not claimed
responsibility it is well documented that the University has been
a steady source of young recruits to the Imperial Academy in
recent years, especially in the Starfighter Division. Moff Gustavu
has criticised Melanthan security but reassures citizens that the
terrorists will be brought to justice and the Empire is there in
the best interests of the welfare of Tapani citizens. This
statement does seem to contradict reports that [Censored by

The body of the notorious killer
known throughout Reena and Calipsa provinces simply as X has
disappeared from the morgue where it was awaiting cremation. X was
tried and convicted of over 200 murders on top of the 34 deaths at
the Tapani Cross Spaceport where he was finally captured and
killed by Bounty Hunters. Guild Master Merlin Dread of D-X
Wildcats declined to give comment on the overzealous methods
employed by his guild hunters in the apprehension of X where one
witness claims several of the deaths were caused by the Bounty
Hunters Reena Police have yet to find any leads to the missing
body.

Other Sector News
Mondeon Crisis
Imperial Governor Harrison has denied
that lack of Imperial presence has led to the strange phenomenon in
the Mondeon system that is making hyperspace travel hazardous.
Reports are coming in that hyperspace travel through the system is
now not possible. Experts warn all travelers that travel to Mondeon
must now be made using ion drives. Any attempt to engage hyperdrives
could lead to damaging a ships engines or even cause critical damage
to a starship. It is estimated that a standard stock freighter with
a maximum speed of sublight 4 would take three weeks to travel the
system on sublight engines. This has already started to cause
economic problems to the already financially weak Mondeon. Prices
for off-world goods have tripled and could rise even further.
Arachnid fears
Reports that the death cult alien
species known as Charon could be involved in the events at Mondeon
have again been denied. Governor Harrison said these claims were,
"ridiculous."
Sports News - Reik leads Grand Prix
standings
After 6 races Sir Reik
of House Mercetti has pulled out a narrow lead from Pelagia’s Sir
Suker. Sir Suker, a Pelagian Knight, has strong holdings in the
Tallon shipyards yet still manages to find time to put on a strong
challenge to this years Tapani Repulsor Championship. Sir Suker
finished second again next to Lord Reik with the championships early
leader, and favourite, Hans Salo of House Melantha retiring for the
third race in succession with engine failure. Roberto Jekks, the
chief engineer for Hans Salo, claims faulty parts from Giju are to
blame for his teams recent failures. These comments have brought on
a storm of controversy with even the Giju Government demanding an
apology from House Melantha. No apology appears to be forthcoming.
Beyond the Blood Drift
There has been unrest on the planet Gar in recent
months. Grand
Moff Ravikk, the true King Bloodaxe, has re-taken his seat as ruler
on this backwater planet. All Kingdoms, including the Kingdom of
Lexgar have been officially dibanded and turned into Dukedoms with
the ex-Kings taking the title of Duke under the rule of Grand Moff
Ravikk. There was one incident of insurrection which was dealt with
swiftly. The Holonet can now report that the ex-Kingdom of
Darkhammer has fallen with King Ivan Darkhammer’s whereabouts
unknown. The Princess Tetris Bloodaxe is also missing.
Gar Update: Information from an undisclosed source claims that
the Grand Moff Ravikk has been taken into custody by the Imperial
Surveillance Bureau for misuse of Imperial funds in his personal
vendetta against the planet Gar. Ivan Darkhammer appears to have
retaken his throne, with Tetris Bloodaxe pronouncing herself Queen
of the Kingdom of Bloodaxe. This claim has not been disputed by
other Gar monarchs, so far.
Beyond the Blood Drift - The Blood Council
Several Kingdoms of Gar have united to form
the Warriors of Gar Alliance. This Alliance is the closest
thing Gar has got to a formal government, but is enough to allow
them a place on the Blood Council. Despite strong backing, the
Red King failed to become the principal monarch and head of the
Warriors of Gar Alliance. This title has been given to Tetris
Bloodaxe. The Bloodaxe Queen now holds the prestigious title
of Queen of Gar.
The Blood Council has been
brought into the public eye of the galaxy recently with their
backing of King Dargrim Lexgar of Gar. King Lexgar claims an
attack was made on his kingdom by a Tapani Lord, and he demands the
culprit be handed over. The Blood Council are the ruling body
in the Blood Drift Sector. The council representing bodies include the
Wroonian Co-Operative, the Devronian Gestalt, The Valkyrie Alliance,
The Empire, the Aurrorr-Tang Council and the Sic-Six Web and the
Warriors of Gar Alliance. There is still very little
information available on the mysterious Blood Emperor

Legacy of the Sith

| Kocola the Hutt - Dead!
There have been unsubstantiated reports from Hutt Space that the
Hutt known as Kocola has been murdered. Kocola has long been at odds
with rival Hutt clans, the Republic and the Jedi. Gorgon the Hutt has
made a statement "If the reports of Kocolas death are correct
then I am not sorry. However, the death of a Hutt is totally
unacceptable. Those responsible will be brought to Justice." Also
interviewed was a representative of Boss Nagga, "Kocola the Hutt
will not be missed. I would personally like to thank the assassin, but
I stress that I had no hand in this matter. My people will co-operate
in any investigation, though my information reports indicate a Jedi
was involved." The Jedi Council have made no statement other than
denying that they have would be involved in any assassination.

Bluebeard Missing
On a related incident the renown Duro pirate Bluebeard, who openly
admitted to working for Kocola the Hutt, has been reported as dead,
though no body has been recovered. Bluebeards pirates apparently
attacked a passenger liner, Starflare, bound for Toydaria. Shortly
after there are reports of a mutiny from disgruntled pirates.
Bluebeard has not been seen since. Early reports are that the
remaining pirates may be joining forces with Vislor Mereel’s
Marauders. This news has unsettled Republic security forces.
Vislor Mereel's Marauders seem to be growing in numbers as the days go
by.

Prestige Classes
Holonet Reporter
In the days of the Old Republic being a
Holonet Reporter was an exciting and daring career. Reporters were
respected, on the whole, and their stories were often as infamous as the
people they wrote about. Stories of Jedi guaranteed a prime-time news
spot, as did reporting on the Lords and Ladies of the Tapani Sector.
In the days of the Empire a majority of the holonet has been shut down, or
is at the least closely monitored and censored by the Imperial Media Analysis
Bureau. Holonet reports are frowned upon by the Empire, but revered as a vital source of information for the Rebel Alliance.
