Mini Rigs

RPG stats for the Mini-Rig toy range from Kenner.  Always great fun, the mini-rigs may not have appeared in the movies but were and affordable vehicle when compared to the Falcon, AT-AT etc.

I have taken some liberties here and added my own write-ups for the vehicles based on how they are used in my Role-Playing adventures.

MLC-3        Mobile Laser Canon

Crew 1
Vehicle Type Personal Assault Tank
Skill Ground Vehicle Operation
Scale Speeder
Cost 40,000 credits (cost to Empire)
Speed 2D
Body / Hull 5D
Maneuverability 1D
Shields n/a
Weapons
Twin Canon
  Fire Control 2D
  Damage 5D

The M.L.C. was introduced to compliment the AT-PT.  The M.L.C.'s tracked wheels gave to good movement over rough terrain while being more sturdy that similar repulsorlift models.  Not many M.L.C.'s were actually produced however due to high cost of production and the line was withdrawn just after the Battle of Hoth.  M.L.C.'s post the Battle of Hoth can still be found in Imperial use in the Outer Rim and some have fallen into the hands of small militia groups and local governments in the Outer Rim.

CAP-1    Captivator

Crew 1
Vehicle Type Modified Space Drone
Skill Starship Piloting
Scale Starfighter
Speed 7
Body / Hull 2D+2
Maneuverability 4D
Shields 1D
Weapons

Light Laser Canon
  Fire Control 2D
  Damage 3D
Grabs (arms)
Skill to use CAP-2 Grab (Mechanical)
  Fire control 2D
  Strength 8D

The CAPtivator is a modified Space Drone, once used by techs performing maintenance on Capital Starships in space.  The CAPtivator is not a production mode but is a crude design that has spread to groups of pirates and Bounty Hunters.  It is not equipped with a hyperdrive but for inter-system travel it has wonderful stealth capabilities.  The rear Claw holds victims tight but can not protect them in space.  The feet of the CAPtivator use hyper-suction pads  allowing it to stick to virtually any surface.

MTV-7    Multi Terrain Transport

Crew 1
Vehicle Type Personal Assault Vehicle
Skill Ground Vehicle Operation
Scale Speeder
Cost 15,000 credits (to Empire only)
Speed 2D / 4D
Body / Hull 3D
Maneuverability 1D
Shields n/a
Weapons
Laser Canon
  Fire Control 2D
  Damage 4D

The M.T.V. has always been a bit of a joke.  It's usefulness in combat is next to zero.  Designed and named a multi-terrain vehicle the M.T.V. is very unstable and prone to toppling over!  Not only that, but the high driver position leaves the driver very vunrable to attack and it's own weapon is under-powered.  The M.T.V. nearly has a redeeming factor, it's speed.  By engaging it's low gravity mode, lowing the cockpit, the M.T.V can pick up great speeds.  However, gear failure was a common problem and often the M.T.V. would literally spring back to normal mode with such force that it would catapult the driver right out of the vehicle.

PDT    Personnel / Personal Deployment Transport

Craft Personnel Deployment Transport
Crew 4
Passengers 550 + vehicle compliment
Vehicle Type Troop Landing Craft
Skill Starship Piloting
Scale Starfighter
Cost 300,000 credits (new); 100,000 cr. (s/h)
Speed 11
Body / Hull 2D+2
Maneuverability 2D+2
Shields 1D
Weapons
Twin Canon
  Fire Control 2D
  Damage 3D

The Personnel Deployment Transport was used for centuries by the Old Republic and in the early days of the Empire.  Capable of carrying troops and vehicles at great speed to the front line the P.D.T. was an essential vehicle in a war campaign.

Craft Personal Deployment Transport
Crew 1
Passengers 1
Vehicle Type Personal Transport
Skill Rocket Vehicle Operation
Scale Speeder
Cost 10,000 credits (new); 15,000 cr. (s/h)
Speed 6D
Body / Hull 2D+2
Maneuverability 2D
Shields n/a
Weapons
Twin Canon
  Fire Control 2D
  Damage 3D

The little brother of the Personnel Deployment Transport.  This version was capable of carrying only the pilot and a passenger.  Like its big brother it has great speed and it was intended that officers would be chauffeured about the battlefield in this vehicle. It also doubled as an emergency medical transport.   The major problem was in its design handling.  Rocket vehicles are rare outside Industrial Tech Level societies so the P.D.T. drivers would have to be specially trained.  So in emergencies these vehicles tended to get left behind because no-one knew how to operate them.

Int-4    INTerceptor

Crew 1
Vehicle Type Planetary Defense Starfighter
Skill Starfighter Piloting
Scale Starfighter
Cost 80,000 credits (new); 50,000 (s/h)
Speed 8
Body / Hull 3D
Maneuverability 3D
Shields n/a
Weapons
Pulse Canon
  Fire Control 3D
  Damage 6D

The INTerceptor was produced for many years in the days of the Old Republic.  As defense Starfighters go this was one of the best.  It's speed and maneuverability made it a formidable opponent for pirates and smugglers.  The INT can take a beating and hand it out.  It's design makes it too small for hyperspace capability and it's lack of shields make it more venerable to the newer Starfighters like the X-Wing.  Although this model is no longer in production many can still be found in active use.

Forest Ranger

Crew 1
Vehicle Type Armoured Scout Transport
Skill Repulsorlift Operation
Scale Speeder
Cost 15,000 credits (new); 7,5000 (s/h)
Speed 3D+1
Body / Hull 4D+1
Maneuverability 2D+1
Shields n/a
Weapons
Twin Canon
  Fire Control 2D
  Damage 4D

Droid brain: Know: 3D; Mech: 2D; Perc 2D

planetary systems 8D, languages 5D, scanners 6D, communication 6D, Repulsorlift Op. 4D

Designed as a survey vessel in the latter days of the Old Republic the Forest Ranger never really took off due to the Empire's restrictions on scouting and exploration.  The vehicle itself was very capable despite its flaws.  It's armour was quite capable of keeping out most predators and it is equipped with a powerful computer / droid system that allows limited independent control. The Forest Ranger is fast but has poor handling, and its design, with wide out-stretched wings, make it very difficult to drive through dense forests, the primary purpose of the vehicle!

Imperial Shuttle Pod

This small one man version of the Lamda class shuttle was originally designed as an escape craft for high ranking officers & VIPs.  Whereas most crew members would have to make do with sitting in an escape pod waiting for help the officer or VIP could escape to safety.

Crew 1
Vehicle Type Emergency Escape Craft
Skill Starfighter Piloting
Scale Starfighter
Cost 60,000 credits (new); 15,000 (s/h)
Speed 5
Body / Hull 2D+2
Maneuverability 1D+1
Shields n/a
Weapons
Laser Canon
  Fire Control 2D
  Damage 4D

Vehicle Maintenance Energizer

This device is often connected between the energy refueling rig and the starship.  The Maintenance Energizer better regulates recharging of fuel cells and decreases refueling times by 20%.  The Maintenance Energizer has a vehicle diagnostic computer that can be used on most repulsorlift and starships. to aid maintenance.  Many starship engineers will have a Maintenance Energizer in their docking bay.

Item Vehicle Maintenance Energizer
Cost 7,000 New (4,000 s/h)
Game Effects Refueling time reduced by 20%
